Our Counseling Staff

All of our counseling staff are State of Arizona liscensed professionals. All of our co-facilitators are highly experienced workshop presenters with a deep pool of working knowledge.

     Pat is a licensed therapist and is owner/ clinical director of Circle Mountain Counseling in Phoenix. He specializes in General Counseling, Substance Abuse, Men’s Soul work, Life Enhancement and Transition Coaching, and male specific workshops and wilderness gatherings. Pat’s experience over the last 20 years includes working in hospitals, clinics, treatment centers, and prisons.
     He currently works for the court system as a screener/expert witness. Pat’s 28 years of recovery from addictions plus extensive graduate level studies in Native American, Asian and Shamanic ways, affords him a broad based, multi-disciplined approach to the counseling process.
     Pat is a native Arizonan, Husband, Father, Grand Father, Military Veteran, Outdoorsman, Horseman, Pilot, Percussionist, and Drum builder. Pat has been involved with the Men’s Movement for over 20 years and collaborates with other like minded men helping to heal toxic masculinity in our culture. Pat lives with his wife April, three horses, three dogs, one cat, and snakes, rabbits, scorpions and coyotes in the desert mountains north of Phoenix.

April Lain has a Masters of Education in Counseling and has been a certified/licensed Substance Abuse Counselor since 1990. Additionally April is a Level 1 certified Equine Therapist. She possesses a thorough working knowledge and personal experience of the impact of addiction and substance abuse on families, adolescents and adults. Her work experience is diverse, ranging from Juvenile Corrections and Child Protective Services to outpatient substance abuse treatment, detox and private practice. She was also the Treatment Supervisor of residential substance abuse treatment programs for pregnant and parenting women and their children in Seattle and Yakima, WA. She uses a holistic approach in her therapy, believing in healing the mind, body and spirit.
