Men's Gatherings

"Mens Soul and Recovery retreats" are conducted at a secluded central Arizona location next to a stream, meadow and trees.This retreat is for men at any stage of 12-step recoverey or any man on a personal growth quest. The framework of this workshop incorporates C.G.Jung's theory of the four functions of consciousness, which include: Thinking, Feeling, Sensate and Intuitive as a guide toward self awareness. Jung states that "critical thinking and overvalued reason impoverish the individual, but the more of the myth and the more of the unconscious we make conscious, the more of life we integrate. Through the use of various expressive techniques such as Drumming, Group process, Expressive art, Energy Movement and DIscharge Process(E.M.D.P.) , Labyrinth, and Sweat Lodge, each participant will explore their respective conscious and unconscious lives thus creating a potential for change. Past participants have reported increased awareness and improvememt in areas of: Frozen feelings, Blocks to creativity, Feeling lost, Painful trauma memories, Depression and feeling stuck in life. At the close of the workshop, each participant will be given a certificate of completion of 20 contact hours from a State of Arizona Licensed Professional Counselor which can be used as continuing educational credits.
